Taigh Iasg is in a truly magical location on the Isle of Skye. Nestled towards the end of a small road at the foot of the Trotternish Ridge, but on the western side, the far less-visited side. Peacefully situated in Glen Hinnisdal, a truly hidden gem. You can walk up onto the ridge to join the Skye Trail from the road end, go hiking in any other direction, and stroll from the doorstep to fly fishing beats which the owner, who lives next door, can advise you on.
The beauty is that you’re not far from the main Portree and Uig road, being only a few miles away. So you can be in Uig and Portree in no time at all where you will find bars, cafés, restaurants and lots of other things to do. The Fairy Glen is only a few glens away, and a highlight for any visit to the island. And a short drive via Uig and over the Trotternish Ridge will get you to the Quiraing, Staffin with its dinosaur footprints, Brothers’ Point with more dinosaur footprints, and the truly memorable Old Man of Storr. The Trotternish Peninsula really is a spectacular location for a holiday and many would argue the best spot to be for a trip to the Isle of Skye.
Taigh Iasg itself is set in a gorgeous spot surrounded by crofting land, so sheep and cattle will often roam past the garden fence. The property has an enclosed garden with ample space for two cars. Upon entering the property there is a vestibule big enough for coats, boots and a bicycle. The hallway is next and all rooms lead off of this central space. To the right is the large living/dining area which is triple aspect letting all of the mountain and moorland views in, with a fantastic amount of space in which to switch off, relax and recharge. Back to the hallway, the kitchen is laid out in farmhouse style, and the bathroom and double bedroom are at the rear of the property.
Any spot in the well maintained garden is also perfect to sit out and watch the world go about its business on this unique island. It takes this holiday home to the next level. Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave. Guests of all ages will enjoy spending time up this magical glen on the Trotternish Peninsula. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 6 miles.
Taigh Iasg can be booked together with Sealladh Breagh (ref UK30002) to accommodate up to 8 guests.
