Guests will enjoy home from home comforts from this charming property, which is ideal for couples and extremely well positioned to explore all that Northumberland has to offer. Relaxation is guaranteed here, from the living room where you can enjoy the views and watch out for the wildlife, including over 100 different birds, deer, red squirrels and boxing hares to name a few that visit the south facing garden. The well equipped kitchen is perfect should you wish to dine in, and at the end of the day the cosy bedroom with fresh Egyptian cotton sheets awaits, helping you to drift off to sleep on your well-deserved holiday.
The local village of Chatton is a short walk away with a post office, shop, church and the local pub, and The Annexe at Tilery Cottage is a super base from which to explore this wonderful diverse county. Fishing enthusiasts will enjoy fishing at the nearby lake or available on a private stretch of the Wooler Water (free of charge) or at the local Chatton Trout Fishery and golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round at the many local golf courses. For the more energetic, there are many walking and cycling routes from the doorstep, so leave your car behind and enjoy the outdoors. With miles of golden beaches and only a few minutes’ drive, visitors can explore the many castles and attractions that are close by. One such attraction is Alnwick Castle, the home to the Duke of Northumberland and famed now for some Harry Potter scenes; Holy Island, famous for the early links to Christianity; Cragside House and gardens, or nearby Chillingham Castle, home to the unique Chillingham wild cattle and reputedly one of the most haunted in England.
The thriving market town of Wooler is only 5 miles away and offers a good selection of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. A 15-minute walk from the property will bring you to the beautifully preserved archaeological Neolithic cup and ring markings. The owners strive to offer you a relaxing and welcoming break, surrounded by beautiful gardens and countryside, just 5 miles from the National Park and 8 miles from the Northumberland coast. Guests can enjoy free use of some bikes so you can explore the quiet roads in the area. Beach 7 miles.
