This ground floor apartment is accessed via two stone steps and has just one step in the hallway. Whitby is a very popular resort with lots of wonderful events and festivals throughout the year such as the bi-annual Goth Weekender, Folk Festival, Regatta and many different music events. With everything that’s going on there is still plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the two miles of golden sands, and some amazing scenery all along the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. With stunning views, hidden coves and bays to explore, there is something for everyone. Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes are just two examples of picture perfect seaside villages in the area, with links to the explorer Captain Cook. The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are both fantastic walking routes that can be joined in Whitby, or head inland to the North York Moors National Park where there are thousands of miles of walking routes. While exploring you’ll find the 199 steps that lead up to Whitby Abbey and the church of St Mary’s, which were made famous by the novel ’Dracula’. Whitby has a golden sandy beach as well as a marina where you can charter your own boat or join a trip out to sea to do a spot of whale watching. The traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington are just down the coast and the medieval walled city of York, with its viking centre and bustling back streets, is a short drive away.
