Originally built in 1895 ’The Coach House’ has undergone extensive refurbishment during 2022/23. This stunning property close to Lake Windermere exudes quality and style and is sure to delight everyone who stays. Enter the spacious porch, ideal for storing coats and boots after a day on the fells. The sumptuous living room features a large wood burner and a 43-inch Smart TV. This room also provides plenty of space for the whole group to enjoy a meal together in the dining area with large dining table and chairs. From here, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the parkland and mountains through the large bi-fold doors. Beyond the hallway with beautiful parquet flooring is a modern, bright kitchen with a white quart’s central island and bar stools, perfect for gathering around while enjoying the distant mountain views through the ceiling to floor glass sliding doors. These access straight onto a large patio. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to ensure a comfortable stay. Directly off the living area and via a small hallway, is a family bathroom with rainfall shower and separate bathtub. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, a large room with a kingsize bed and the second bedroom has two single beds which can be made into a super kingsize bed on request. Accessed via the sweeping staircase is a further double bedroom with fitted wardrobe and Smart TV. It also comes with an en-suite bathroom with a rainfall shower. The ’piece de resistance’ is access to an extensive balcony with glass balustrade and rattan balcony furniture. Here you can sit and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple whilst taking in the amazing mountain and lake views. Outside is a large patio area which enjoys the sun all day with high quality rattan furniture, barbecue and small enclosed lawned area. The whole garden area is fully fenced and safe for dogs. The property is a mile outside Bowness village and a mile from Lake Windermere. A pleasant foot pathed walk takes about 20 minutes to both lake and village with its multitude of restaurants, shops, car ferry and water sports.
This property is perfectly placed to enjoy all that Bowness-on-Windermere has to offer, including some of the Lake District’s finest attractions. Take a cruise on Lake Windermere to Ambleside, or across to Lakeside to enjoy a day at The Aquarium or hop on the steam train to Haverthwaite. Alternatively, try your hand at sailing and hire your own boat for a few hours. Paddle boarding or kayaking is also a popular activity on the lake and can be hired close-by. Bowness-on-Windermere is also home to Beatrix Potter World and the Art Deco Royalty Cinema. If you’re feeling energetic, so many walks can be found nearby including ’Orrest Head’ in Windermere or ‘Gummer’s How’ both relatively short walks offering spectacular views over Lake Windermere. Or head to our mountains for fantastic hiking. The small ’Alpine’ like village of Grasmere is 15 minutes away, where William Wordsworth is laid to rest at St. Oswald’s Church, and if you’re a fan of Gingerbread, a visit to the Grasmere Gingerbread shop is a must!
