The Croft is a wonderful country-style cottage all on one level, with a cosy wood burner in the large bright living room with vaulted ceiling. The kitchen/dining room to the rear is light and airy with plenty of space to eat and socialise whilst coking your evening meal or having your morning cup of tea, overlooking the generous garden where you may easily spot some wildlife.
The Croft is a perfect retreat for couples or a small family and sits just out of Longhorsley village and less than a mile from Linden Hall Hotel. Longhorsley has a popular village pub and shop, and Longframlington is only 3 miles with an award-winning café and two pubs, both serving food. The small town of Rothbury is only 8 miles where you can meander to one of the friendly pubs or restaurants in the evening, perhaps take in a stroll along the river. Rothbury has a selection of bespoke shops, cafés, pubs, and restaurants, with something for all tastes and age groups. Cragside House is here; a wonderful place to visit, being the first house powered by hydroelectric it’s a charming trip for children and adults.
Serious walkers would like to visit the Simonside Hills surrounding this small town. Rothbury is known as the Capital of Coquetdale and is ideally located for exploring the nearby villages, set on the edge of the National Park. Alnwick famed for the castle used in some Harry Potter scenes is only 14 miles, whilst the pretty, historic town of Morpeth is only 10 miles with lovely shops, cafés and restaurants. The fabulous Northumberland Heritage Coast is only 10 miles and stretches for miles up past Berwick-upon-Tweed.
