If you’re about to tackle the North Coast 500, or looking to explore the magic of the glorious Highlands of Scotland, or you just want to get away from it all for a few days and are craving peace, quiet and serenity, The Dalmore Pod is the ideal stopover for you. The pod is in a quiet setting in the town of Alness close to the start of the North Coast 500.
The town is less than a mile from the mouth of the river Averon and looks over the Cromarty Firth. The deep-water port of Invergordon is just three miles along the Firth. There is an 18-hole golf course a mile away from the Pod, two world-famous distilleries, Dalmore and Teanninich, and, for the more energetic, there are plenty of scenic walks including a two-and-a-half-mile trek up to Fyrish Monument where the views of Cromarty Firth and Ben Wyvis are spectacular. The town offers a variety of restaurants, cafes and take-aways, and several pubs on the High Street are only a ten-minute walk away. Alternatively, Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is a twenty-five-minute drive. Now a city, Inverness offers a wide variety of leisure activities from Jacobean cruises on Loch Ness, to ten-pin bowling, to soft-play facilities for children. There are train and bus services from Alness to Inverness and north to Caithness, though these are rather limited.
The Dalmore Pod is very modern, and offers everything to make your stay comfortable, peaceful, and enjoyable. The timber-lined interior is warm and welcoming. There is a double bed, a kitchenette, Wi-Fi, a spacious shower room, Smart TV, and towelling robes and slippers are provided to use around the hot spa bath out on the patio. A six-foot fence provides complete privacy for the pod and the spa bath.
