Welcome to The Garden House, a charming retreat nestled in the heart of the quintessential village of Norton St Philip. Located between Bath and Frome, this private hideaway is set within the grounds of a larger home but offers complete seclusion with its own garden and orchard, featuring breathtaking views of the Church of St Philip and St James.
As you walk down the path and through the gate, you’ll be greeted by a tranquil garden. The property itself is thoughtfully designed by architects and features a bright and spacious living area with full-length windows overlooking the garden, alongside a wood burner and a Smart TV. Steps lead up to the well-appointed kitchen and spacious dining area, along with the family bathroom featuring a shower. The steel staircase takes you to a galleried space with a single bed and a separate double bedroom. Outside, enjoy meals by the fire pit on the comfortable outdoor seating, set within the expansive garden with its own private orchard. There is also a gate to the public field with a children’s play park.
The city of Bath is a 15-minute drive (or catch the bus from the village) and needs no introduction. If you want to enjoy all this world heritage site has to offer while staying out of the tourist bustle in a quintessential English village, The Studio is the perfect spot. It has its own dramatic history to investigate, including the site of the Pitchfork Rebellion in 1686. The stunning Inn next door is one of the country’s oldest and has been the resting place of queens and kings dating back to the 15th Century. Other world-class attractions nearby include Longleat Safari Park, Stonehenge, Glastonbury and National Trust’s Stourhead. Don’t miss other places of interest that we locals love including the Hauser and Wirth art gallery in Bruton, Iford Manor’s Peto Garden, and the pretty market town of Bradford on Avon. There are countless other National Trust properties, quaint villages, Neolithic sites and ancient churches to explore.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 19 guests.
