The market town of Alnwick offers a range of fabulous amenities including a theatre/cinema, shops and eateries, together with the magnificent Alnwick Castle and Gardens, 5 minutes’ walk from The Gatehouse, and Barter Books, which is a short stroll away. Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline is just a few miles away with easy access to other regions via the A1. The mainline train station can be found in Alnmouth, with direct regular services to Newcastle Central, Edinburgh and London’s King Cross. All shops, cafés and restaurants are within a few minutes’ walk of the front door, and with a variety of independent grocers there is plenty to choose from if you prefer to not use the supermarket, which is easily less than a 10-minute walk. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful part of Northumberland, guests will return to The Gatehouse time and time again.
