Lincoln with its spectacular cathedral, castle and vibrant Brayford waterside area offers good days out for shopping, sightseeing and refreshments and is just a 25-minute drive away. Horncastle which is well known for its weekly market and many antique shops is about 15 minutes away, the Georgian market town of Louth with lots of lovely small shops and it still boasts three markets a week and is about 20 minutes drive away. Here, if you have the time, you can walk alongside the river through Hubbards Hills and Westgate Fields.
The east coast with its traditional seaside resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea is about 35 minutes drive away with miles of sandy beaches to stroll along. There is also the nature reserves at Gibralter Point and Frampton and the seal breeding grounds at Donna Nook to visit. National Trusts venues at Gunby Hall and Doddington Hall are both about 15 miles away. Motorsport enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the many days of action to be watched at Cadwell Park, 7 miles. Market Rasen racecourse is only 9 miles away at Market Rasen where you can also catch a train into Lincoln for a day out. The nearby village of East Barkwith has a shop and pub which also serves food, both are 1½ miles away.
