Enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine whilst watching the comings and goings of the boats on the waterway. With this elevated position, you can also take in the stunning sunrise, sunsets and the everchanging tides. There is a restaurant just a 10-minute stroll away which offers great food, and has a large garden reaching the foreshore where you can enjoy some locally brewed ales. In the summer season, it also has a floating pontoon which is ideal for crabbing, or meander across the shingle beach and take your kayak out on the estuary. Cyclists can take the Brunel Trail which starts in Neyland (once the western terminus of Brunel’s Great Western Railway) and links the picturesque Neyland Marina to Johnston and Haverfordwest, via Westfield Pill Nature Reserve a short cycle ride away.

For keen walkers you can discover some truly gorgeous beaches, coves and dramatic cliffs on some of the 186 miles of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, which runs from Amroth in the south, passing Burton and onto Cardigan in the north. Within a 20-minute drive you can explore Pembrokeshire’s glorious beaches such as Barafundle, Freshwater West, Broad Haven and Little Haven, to name a few, or visit the pretty coastal town of Tenby with its award-winning beaches, many cafés, restaurants and daily boat trips to Caldey Island.
