The Hive is a wonderful, self-contained annexe adjacent to the owner’s home which has been renovated in 2021 to a very good standard, and you can expect to see a few decorative bumble bee items inside! Downstairs is an open plan living space with a patio door leading to your own enclosed patio area with seating. There is a fantastic bathroom with a spacious shower cubicle. You can access the mezzanine bedroom upstairs by the Victorian spiral staircase and the bedroom has a Japanese-style double bed for that extra touch of unique elegance. There is a comfortable sofa bed in the living room suitable for two additional guests, providing a comfortable nights rest. The parking space is outside the property on the private driveway.
The Dorset Trailway is only a 2-minute walk away from The Hive and is suitable for walking and cycling, ideal for those who like to go out and explore, or burn a few calories! It is largely made up along the old Dorset railway which used to link Bristol and Bournemouth. For days out within Blandford you can visit the Royal Signals Museum, The Blandford Fashion Museum or a brewery which offers tours, as well as local shops, cafés and restaurants.
There is a variety of National Trust sites within easy reach, including Kingston Lacy House, Badbury Rings, Hod Hill, Hardy’s Cottage and the Cerne Abbas Giant. A short drive away you can explore the New Forest National Park, with its free roaming ponies, or visit Cranborne Chase with its diverse landscape. You can head towards the seaside to visit the scenic Jurassic Coast and spend the day wandering the cliffs along Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The whole family can enjoy a day at the Dorset Heavy Horse Farm, where you take have a horse-drawn carriage ride, feed the farm animals or ride the ponies. Further afield, explore Shaftesbury, Poole, Bournemouth, Weymouth and Dorchester. There are golf courses nearby or you can head to Gorcombe Extreme Sports for paintballing, quad biking, archery and an assault course. Beach 18 miles.
