The Jacobite Retreat is a beautifully presented two bedroom holiday retreat with amazing mountain views overlooking the railway line. Flooded with natural light from patio doors leading to the garden, the living room is a bright and vibrant space enhanced by soft furnishings where guests can relax in comfort to admire the rugged mountain views. Prepare meals overlooking Ben Nevis in the large fully-equipped kitchen and cook up a storm with inspiration from a selection of recipe books. Gather round the dining table which accommodates up to six people. Also in this cosy space is a reading nook where you can enjoy the complete Harry Potter series which sits on the alcove shelving alongside the cookbooks. Set the mood with your choice of music by linking up to the bluetooth speaker. Uninterrupted mountain vistas of Ben Nevis, Aonach Mòr, Stob Bàn, Sgùrr a’ Mhàim and the locally known “Melantee” steal the show in the master bedroom. The second bedroom has two comfy single beds and all bed linen is provided. There is also a dedicated office space with desk, chair and USB/plug access. In the family bathroom, guests can choose between relaxing in the bathtub or using the walk-in shower. The front, side and rear gardens are fully enclosed with a picnic bench area and patio. There’s a large shed available to guests for storage of bikes etc, plus a handy outside tap and hose. Security cameras are to the front and rear of the property.

With a direct route through the neighbourhood, The Jacobite Retreat is a 15 to 20-min walk on the flat (5-min drive) to Fort William town centre with its main bus links, railway station, leisure centre, cinema, museum, shops, restaurants and bars. Ben Nevis and Glen Nevis are within walking distance. From the rear garden, guests can turn left and access a pedestrian footbridge over the West Highland Line leading to the a Retail Park with a cycle hire shop, an e-bike hub and a takeaway located in the village. Described as one of the greatest rail journeys in the world, The Jacobite steam train’s 84-mile Fort William to Mallaig round trip is undoubtedly a bucket list experience.
