Sitting pretty in the North Norfolk village of Trunch and close to both the stunning coastline and the beautiful Broads, the Maltings really is quite the find. Don’t be fooled by the fact that this property sleeps just two. It is very spacious light and airy and has been decorated and curated to a very high standard to offer stylish luxury accommodation for couples seeking a truly gorgeous getaway. The owners are happy for an older child to join their parents in this lovely holiday home and have thoughtfully added a good quality sofa bed to the property to accommodate this.
Formally the grain store it is attached the 200-year-old Brewery House and has bags of personality and offers charm in spades. And it has quite the pedigree too as it was previously voted one of the top 30 cosiest cottages in England, making this a must-book property! Here you will find a relaxing living room with a wonderful wood burner to snuggle up in front of, maybe with a great book or perhaps while you catch up on some boxset viewing in front of the Smart TV. Also on the ground floor you will find a contemporary, well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with twin basin units and a luxurious, deep feature bath with a rainfall shower above.
On the open-plan first floor you’ll discover a high-quality kingsize bed, which feels so spacious because of the exposed beams and vaulted ceiling and is perfect for long lie-ins. There is also a small bistro seating area at the front of the property, great for both a morning coffee and an evening sundowner. The beach is just 5 minutes away- head to Mundesley for its wide sandy beach and then take the pretty coast road, winding your way through Norfolk stone villages until you reach Cromer where you will find a host of great places to shop, eat and drink along with that famous pier. Two award-winning gastro pubs are within a ten-minute drive.
Head West a little further and take a seasonal boat trip to see the seals or do some crab-lining on Blakeney Quay.
Check out the Thursford Collection with its Christmas Spectacular or potter around the Georgian Town of Holt with its unique high street. You can also be in the heart of the Broads in around 25 minutes where you can charter a day launch or join a tour and make like Swallows and Amazons as you drift along these much-celebrated waterways. There are lots of great places to eat locally too, which is just as well as you will be sure to have worked up an appetite with all the sightseeing.
