This lovely detached holiday property stands on the very edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and overlooks the River Aire. This is a wonderful location for walking direct from the door, with stunning walks at nearby Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Malham Tarn and Janet’s Foss. The historic market town of Skipton, known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’, is close at hand, boasting one of England’s best preserved Norman castles, together with a bustling market and a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. In 2008, the Academy of Urbanism voted the high street the best shopping spot in Britain. Nearby Coniston Hall provides a wide selection of country sports such as shooting, fishing and 4x4 driving, together with a restaurant and bar serving meals, which can be accessed on foot across the fields. Alternatively, both the historic city of York and the Lake District make for a change of scenery, or take the train from Skipton to Leeds - which boasts its own Harvey Nichols store and some of the best shopping in the north of England. Shop 3 miles, pub 1½ miles.
