A beautifully appointed property, extremely clean and excellent faculties.Simple things like lovely fluffy towels and the welcome pack makes all the difference. Grosmont is a very quiet village with a great local pub, well worth the short walk for a pint (or two!)

The cottage was just what we needed for a quiet getaway with our small dog. The owner has thought of some lovely touches, and the welcome goodies were an unexpected treat. The kitchen was very well equipped so we did use it most days. The nearest supermarket is in Abergavenny - about 20 mins away, but there is a big fridge and freezer so no worries there. The outdoor seating area was lovely, and we even had warm enough weather for sitting out on one day.The bedrooms were cosy and being able to put the heating on just for a short boost was great. The views and local village are lovely. The dog enjoyed his walk to the castle and back each morning. You do need a torch when you go out at night though, but this was thoughtfully provided. The only thing that would have been helpful, was some hooks on the back of doors (ie bathroom) but that is purely a suggestion. There was plenty of storage elsewhere. We would definitely return again. The area is beautiful and you can drive to the mountains and local towns within 20 minutes and 45 mins to an hour to Hay on Wye (depending on which road you take!).We didn't want to go home.

Great base for exploring as long as you don’t mind narrow roads. Very comfortable cottage with some lovely touches, e.g. Prosecco and chocolate. Tricky to find; more exact directions required as the chapel is fronted by a high hedge and tricky to find.
