Supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants are also close by, from the centre of Fort William you can go by steam train over the Glenfinnan Viaduct to Mallaig, enjoy a fresh fish and chips lunch and then return on a normal train; the viaduct and train were both used in the Harry Potter films. If you wish to go further afield but still a day trip, you can visit Loch Ness, the Isle of Skye, Oban (known as the seafood capital) and, of course, Glencoe which is stunning no matter what time of year it is. Beach 1 mile.
