All on one level with great attention to detail, the cottage is on the outskirts of Rothbury around a 15-minute walk from the friendly pubs, most serving delicious food, perfect for couples or a small family, and perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring the glorious surrounding countryside.

With walks and cycling from the door, you feel like you are in the countryside yet only a three-minute drive from the centre of this pretty little market town. Parking in Rothbury is free and available in most of the small town.

The Simonside Hills are ideal for the serious walkers, or a gentle stroll along the River Coquet is perfect for those wanting a more relaxing holiday. Rothbury is set along the River Coquet where you can fish for salmon and trout. The golf course is very close should you be a keen golfer. Cragside House (National Trust) is nearby and packed full of quirky inventions with stunning gardens in spring and summer.

A few miles drive over the moor will take you to Alnwick, with its famous castle and gardens which is open to the public and was used in some Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scene; explore the cobbled streets and cafés stopping off for lunch. Northumberland Heritage Coastline makes for a wonderful day out where you can explore up and down the coastline taking in historic castles and beautiful unspoilt golden beaches. A day trip over to the Northumberland National Park is well worth the effort in any season, and Kielder Water Riverside has plenty of stopping-off picnic areas for the family easily reached from your location in Rothbury. Beach 17 miles.
