The Royal Arran is a striking property located on the shoreline of Whiting Bay on Arran with stunning views towards the Holy Isle and across the sea to the mainland. The Royal Arran was built in 1901 in the Arts and Craft style and has been converted into a stylish and impressive holiday home. The attention to detail and high standard of finish are felt throughout the property.
On entering the property guests are greeted with the original sweeping staircase leading from the entrance hall. The two main living areas to the front of the house give guests plenty of space to relax in and take full advantage of the sea view. A family room leading from the kitchen with its TV provides a further dining and sitting area, ideal for games and play. Continuing through the property is a comfortable TV room with wood burning stove which is a cosy place to curl up on a winter’s evening. The large dining room and kitchen boasts sea views and offer a range of casual and more formal dining options, or just a place to enjoy a morning coffee looking out to sea. There are six bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms, one of the master bedrooms also has a freestanding bath. Each bathroom has been individually designed to complement its bedroom. The bedrooms have generous storage and plenty of coat hangers. There is a separate family bathroom which has a roll-top bath, providing the perfect end to a busy day exploring the island. One of the bedrooms is downstairs which may suit guests with limited mobility. The garden has two patio areas which looks out to sea plus an outside toilet for added convenience. There is a burn that runs down the far side of the house that is not enclosed but the sound of the running water adds to the ambience of the location.
Families will love this coastal location for its proximity to the beach and short walk to a children’s play park, whilst enjoying watching the infamous swans of Whiting Bay swimming by. The village of Whiting Bay is on the doorstep with bar, restaurant, coffee shop, convenience shop, post office, bowling green, putting green and golf club. For keen walkers there are some great walks around Whiting Bay, such as Glenashdale Falls and Giants Graves, or follow the forestry walk to Lamlash or south to Kildonan. The Royal Arran in Whiting Bay is perfect for a weekend break for families and friends. Beach 20 yards. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
