The town itself offers a variety of independent cafés, restaurants, and traditional pubs within a short distance of the property, perfect for enjoying fresh seafood or a classic Sunday roast. If you’re visiting with your four-legged friend, there are plenty of scenic coastal walks and dog-friendly spots on the local beaches and promenades where you can visit Roker and Seaburn beaches, the National Glass Centre, and the Stadium of Light for football fans.
Newcastle is accessible via bus or Metro but well worth the trip, with its vibrant nightlife, shopping, and cultural landmarks like the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the Glasshouse and historic Quayside, and the impressive Newcastle Castle. For history lovers, Durham is just a short journey away, home to the stunning Durham Cathedral and Castle, charming riverside walks and boutique shopping. The Beamish Open-Air Museum offers a fascinating look into the region’s past, while nature enthusiasts will enjoy discovering the breathtaking landscapes of the Durham Dales and nearby countryside trails.
It’s only a short walk to the Metro Station where you can catch a train to the centre of Newcastle and its city culture, and also to Tynemouth, with its vibrant cultural scene and Whitley Bay with its famous island lighthouse at high tide. Of course, if you wish to fly on far-off adventures, the Metro line takes you right to Newcastle Airport!
