The Smithy of Longcastle is a lovely rural cottage set peacefully in large gardens where the kids will have plenty of space to run around. The Cottage has been updated and modernised in 2021. It is a spacious and bright cottage with large master bedroom with patio doors opening onto the garden. The kitchen/dining room is the hub of the house where you can sit and enjoy a family meal reminiscing over your days activities in this delightful area. The living room is complete with OnDemand TV and superfast fibre broadband.
The Smithy of Longcastle whilst set in a delightful rural area amidst rolling farmland is just few miles from the small village of Whauphill and only 5 miles from the coast and the lovely little village of Port William, known as the “Machars of Galloway” has a rugged coastline and boasts stunning views over Luce Bay to the Mull of Galloway and the Isle of Man. Wigtown, Scotland’s very own book town, is well worth a visit where you can enjoy a few hours absorbed in the many and varying book shops.
Enjoy the rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf Stream and must is a visit to the world-renowned Logan Botanical Garden with its many exotic plants and trees. The UNESCO World Heritage site of the Galloway Forest, home to the 7 Stanes Kirroughtree and Glentrool mountain bike trails, numerous lochs and the Galloway hills is only a short drive away. One of the UK’s only Dark Skies Park is close by with its superb dark skies at night and is well worth visiting. There are many walking and cycling trails on your doorstep, as well as golf, sailing, fishing and riding. With a wealth of things to do in the area, The Smithy of Longcastle is the perfect location.
