Conveniently located in Peterborough, a stone’s throw away from local attractions, shops, and dining establishments. Explore the historic landmarks, such as the 12th century cathedral. The museum has a reconstructed Victorian operating theatre plus fossils and paintings. The Flag Fen Archaeology Park features a bronze age village and causeway remains. Nene Park is a large area of park land to the west of Peterborough and is the region’s favourite place to get outdoors and enjoy nature. It is made up of six different areas: Ferry Meadows, Orton Meadows, Orton Mere, Woodston Reach, Thorpe Meadows and The Rural Estate made up of parkland, meadows, woodlands and lakes. The River Nene runs through all the areas connecting them together.
For railway enthusiasts Railworld Wildlife Haven is a charity in Peterborough which has a nature haven, a model railway and other exhibits. It is located on a landscaped former coal storage yard which once served Peterborough Power Station. Fancy a day at the coast then pop along to Snetisham Beach a perfect all-year-round beach to watch the birds, a beach for walking and for being romantic when the sun’s setting. The historic town of Cambridge is less than an hour away where you will find an array of shops, market and restaurants, why not take a trip along the River Cam on a punt.
