Head over to the stunning Northumberland Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with miles of golden beaches, peppered with historic castles or head west over to Hadrian’s Wall area where you can spend some time walking some of the ancient wall, perhaps stop off at one of the Roman forts.
