Thornlea is one of a kind, this characterful spacious property is beautifully furnished with a fun splash of colour. You are perched up on the cliff top, just a short walk down to the golden sandy beach stretching all the way to neighbouring Sandsend. At the rear of the property you have an enclosed garden, bursting with colour through the spring and summer months, with both the dining room and the sun room having glass doors opening out into this welcoming outdoor space. The dining room is a great size for enjoying social meals all together, with the well-equipped kitchen adjoining. They say the kitchen is the heart of the home and this unique kitchen is at the centre of the building, boasting its own pantry as well as opening out into the sun room, with comfortable seating where you can unwind with garden views. The separate living room is a generous size with three sofas around the TV, and you also have a reading room/study at the front of the property with a telescope so that you can have a closer look at passing boats and ships. The ground floor also benefits from having a double bedroom with its own en-suite shower. Up on the first floor you have a further three double bedrooms all boasting sea views, the master double has its own walk-in dressing room as well as an en-suite bathroom.
Stroll down to the historic harbour, explore the quaint cobbled streets, and climb the 199 steps up to the famous Whitby Abbey, a popular historical attraction which has inspired visitors for nearly 1500 years, boasting wondrous sea views. Take a moment to explore the Gothic ruins and discover the history behind the abbey, said to have been the home of the first known English poet and an inspiration for Bram Stoker’s famous novel ’Dracula’. The long, sandy beaches are a delight, and all visitors need to partake in trying the renowned fish and chips! This beautiful area has a wealth of attractions, with quaint coastal villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes nearby, and the dramatic countryside and moorland.
