This lovely end-of-terrace cottage boasts picturesque views of the local countryside and Pendle Hill. Tilly Cottage has been lovingly refurbished inside while also retaining many of its original features, making it the ideal choice for those wanting a holiday home full of character. There is a local pub a stone’s throw from the cottage and several eating places (dog friendly) within a 5-mile journey. Enjoy a good cooked English breakfast at a local café just a minute up the road, taking in the panoramic views and relax on the balcony with a glass of wine later watching the evening sun setting over Pendle Hill.
There is so much on Tilly Cottage’s doorstop; walk through the fields or drive down the country lanes to the Pendle villages of Roughlee and Barley where you can hike up Pendle Hill, then relax at one of the many welcoming country pubs. Barrowford, only 1½ miles away, offers an array of upmarket boutiques and independent shops, or venture slightly further to the market town of Clitheroe, 17 miles away, where you can peruse the artisan food hall and grab a pint crafted by the local Bowland Brewery attached to the converted mill.
The Forest of Bowland, noted for its outstanding National Beauty, and Ribble Valley are both nearby with an abundance of local walks, cycle routes and country pubs.
The historic market town of Skipton (gateway to the Yorkshire Dales) is just a 20-minute drive, with Bolton Abbey being within close range. Tilly Cottage is also situated at the start of the alternative scenic route to Windermere and The Lake District which can be reached in just over an hour.
