Ticket Office was once part of a former railway station, in the quiet and peaceful hamlet of Torver, and on the doorstep of Coniston Water. There is an abundance of nearby countryside to explore, with nearby Duddon Valley and Lakeland Fells, including Coniston Old Man. The well presented property is perfect for a romantic get away, as you can cuddle up in the cosy, bright living/dining room, and take in the views from the large windows. The wonderful double bedroom, with sumptuous bed linen, adds to the comfort of this lovely property. The property still retains a distinctive feel of its former use, with the crest for the Furness Railway Company still visible on the fireplace, and the original hatch from where tickets were once sold.
The nearby Lakeland villages of Coniston and Hawkshead are idyllic and have an abundance of shops and cafés. For the more adventurous, why not take to the tree top challenge at Grizedale Forest, or venture along the many paths by foot or by bike. For steam enthusiasts, you can still take to the tracks with a ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite trains near Ulverston, or the elegant Victorian Steam Yacht Gondola which sails between March and November on Coniston Water. There are so many activities to keep you busy all year round in this wonderful area. Beach 18 miles. Shop 2½ miles, restaurant 100 yards. Ticket Office (ref UK1145) can be booked together with Station Master’s House (ref UK1144) to accommodate up to 7 guests.
