Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers, this detached annex with stunning views across an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides the perfect spot for exploring, relaxing or a romantic break. Generously proportioned studio room upstairs with large Velux windows provides the perfect countryside view to wake up to. French doors lead out to a large private balcony made with Sussex oak with a large tree growing through it, providing the feel of a tree house and the perfect spot to dine al fresco or to listen to the bird song in the morning. A spiral staircase inside links the upstairs with the downstairs well-equipped kitchenette and a large double walk-in shower. There is also access to a beautiful shared garden with a large barbecue area with multiple barbecues, a firepit and hot tub which backs onto open fields.
Treetops Retreat is hidden away on a tiny little lane with trees meeting over the road. There are lots of public footpaths meandering through fields to the woods. There can at times be sheep in the field behind and cows with calves in the field beyond depending on the season. Horses can also be heard walking along the lane.
Treetops is a wonderful space for getting away from it all. To explore, relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, to heal, write, create music or art, or to study. It’s the perfect place to wind down and de-stress. There is an enhanced cleaning programme in place to ensure everyone’s safety running an ozone generator between stays. Please note the hot tub is shared between the three properties on site and is available between 9am and midnight at £10 per private half hour session, organised directly with the owner and depending on availability. Also available directly with the owner is Reiki, aromatherapy massages, reflexology and other classes depending on dates and availability. Any treatments will need to be pre booked directly.
As well as Treetops, there are two shepherd’s huts available to book should you have a larger party – Heartsease (UKC5951) and Meadowsweet (UKC5952). Should you wish to venture outside of Treetops Retreats, there is an abundance of activities and places to visit for everyone. The local village of Herstmonceux offers great pubs and restaurants along with Herstmonceux Castle and the Royal Observatory Centre.
You can visit Batemans, the home of Rudyard Kipling, and Battle Abbey, the site of The Battle of Hastings, all within a short drive. As well as exploring the local countryside, The Cuckoo Trail provides the perfect place for cyclists and ramblers to explore. Should you prefer a trip to the coast then Pevensey Bay is only a 15-minute drive away with larger towns such as Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne either side of this providing retail therapy, theatre trips and the usual seaside attractions.
