Tutchenor Farmhouse is a detached holiday cottage, privately set within the heart of Devonshire countryside, on the edge of a peaceful hamlet amidst working farms. Set within the quiet enclosed farmyard with walled lawned front garden and small lawned area to the rear overlooking fields. The property is decorated with a Christmas theme during the festive season, making it an ideal base all year round. Okehampton and Holsworthy, each 10 miles, offer shops, pubs, restaurants and weekly markets. Hatherleigh, 8 miles, has preserved its character and charm as a true Devon market town. Tuesday morning is without doubt the best time to visit. The market holds a fascinating insight into rural Devon. Here you will find local farmers bidding for poultry and small animals. There are also stalls selling local produce, plants and crafts. This is not a tourist attraction - it is the real Devon and should not be missed. Ideal base to explore Devon and Cornwall. Bude, the nearest seaside resort is within 18 miles, for popular surfing beach, leisure activities, family attractions and shops. Dartmoor National Park is an easy drive for keen walkers and bird and nature lovers. Also cycling along the Granite Way and Tarka Trail takes you through the edge of Dartmoor and down to the north coast. Nearby Roadford and Tamar Lakes offer windsurfing, sailing, fishing, birdwatching, lakeside walks and picnics. Golf and horse riding available locally. Eden Project within 1 hour’s drive. Plymouth and Exeter both within 45 minutes’ drive. Shops and pubs 2½ miles.
