This former Methodist chapel, originally built in 1871, offers a superb, contemporary holiday home. It benefits from private off-road parking plus a lovely garden (rare for a converted chapel), perfect for large families. Ty Capel or ‘The Chapel House’ was built in 1871 and is a really special premier holiday home, located close to the town centre in Tywyn, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It is also just a short walk from a sweeping sandy beach and the world-famous Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway, which inspired The Rev Awdry author to write ‘Thomas The Tank Engine’.
Ty Capel is ideally situated for whatever type of holiday you want. Miles of sandy beaches and stunning walks are just a 10-minute walk from the chapel. As well as this fantastic location, just down the road from Tywyn’s Blue Flag award-winning beach. The town centre, with its independent shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, excellent eateries, cinema and leisure centre with pool, is just a minute away. Surrounded by the Snowdonia National Park, this location is fabulous for those into cycling or horse-riding, with numerous scenic places to ride and the internationally famous mountain biking centre at Coed y Brenin is just 40 minutes away.
This is a walkers’ paradise with the Wales Coast Path passing along the seafront. For those seeking even more challenges, Cader Idris is just a 15-minute drive and Snowdon can be reached in just over an hour. If you’re not the active type, how about riding on the ‘must do’ famous Talyllyn Railway, a narrow-gauge steam railway in Tywyn? Also, the golf club and harbour at Aberdovey are only a 10-minute drive awaye.
