These two properties are close to each other, along the same country lane, 100 yards apart. Upper Ffinnant is a traditional characterful stone farmhouse and Chalgrove a contemporary barn conversion; but they both have the wonderful views in common! Upper Ffinnant is a detached cottage located in an area littered with attractions. For a pampering break you can enjoy an afternoon at a local spa just ten minutes away, or if golf is your sport, there are two courses within 10 minutes’ drive. For families, there is hiking or pony trekking in the Brecon Beacons or Black Mountains, as well as play barns and open farms in the area to enjoy. Peace and quiet surrounds you as the cottages are situated on the boundary of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The area is blessed with rolling hills, woodland, canal walks and river valleys, and guided walks through the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains are available. Views throughout the entire year are outstanding and dramatic views can be captured by keen photographers at all times of day. Bustling towns such as Brecon, Crickhowell, Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye are traditional market towns where local produce can be purchased, and real treats can be found in farm shops and at farmers’ markets. The Taff Trail is nearby, or you can explore the caves at Dan-Yr-Ogof, and visit the castles of Carreg Cennen, Caerphilly and Cardiff. The Brecon Mountain Railway makes an ideal afternoon out for all the family, and the Brecon Beacons is Wales’ first International Dark Sky Reserve, recognised as possessing an exceptional or distinguished quality of starry nights and nocturnal environment. Brecon is the nearest town but the surrounding area offers some outstanding places where you can wine, dine or simply get a takeaway. The villages around the Brecon area have some outstanding pubs which offer good food. Shop, pub and restaurant 6 miles.
