An open staircase leads up to a mezzanine level which is light and bright and a welcoming space to work or relax with a book. Ideally placed beside the local pub and the picturesque market square of Middleham, famous for its 12th century castle with elegant buildings and interesting shops, galleries, and cafés. It is also renowned for its horse training, and you will often see the marvellous sight as the horses and riders make their way through the streets up to ’The Gallops’ for their morning exercise.
Set in beautiful countryside with an abundance of walks and cycle routes direct from the door, this makes a perfect base for the outdoor enthusiast. The popular towns of Leyburn and Hawes with their array of independent shops, cafés and restaurants, are just a short drive away. Historical castles and ruins are numerous with Bolton Castle and Middleham Castle a few miles away. The Forbidden Corner is just down the road with its labyrinth of tunnels and underground caves to explore. From the village of Redmire, take a ride on the Wensleydale railway. The line runs for 16 miles and links the village with Leyburn and Leeming in the Vale of York and is serviced by diesel and occasionally steam engines making several return trips daily. With so much to do and see, you will certainly want to return.
