This beautiful 13th-century Welsh Gatehouse on the edge of Chepstow is an ideal base for a break for two, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This unusual property is full of history and original features, such as stone mullion windows, wooden beams and has fantastic views from the top of the tower. Access to the gatehouse is via a spiral staircase. There is an open plan living area with wood burner, TV with DVD player, iPod docking system and radio, dining area and kitchen, wet room and a gallery bedroom accessed via a companionway ladder. There is a shared garden space with barbecue and garden furniture. There are plenty of sights to see in Chepstow. visit Chepstow Castle, the oldest castle in Wales, which is a fabulous way to spend the day. Another great historic site is Tintern Abbey. There are some great views to be had over the Wye Valley from here, or simply take a stroll along the river. Offas Dyke is not far from the property and there are some lovely walks to be had, or for a fun day out Chepstow also has a racecourse. The town of Chepstow is a 10-minute drive from The Welsh Gatehouse. The unusual layout of the property is over 2 storeys. From the 2nd floor there are spiral stairs out onto the roof top of the tower with stunning views from the Bristol Channel to Gloucestershire, and from the Wye Valley to the Welsh Hills.
