The double en-suite bedroom is bright and well presented, with plenty of storage for all of your belongings in the large built in wardrobes. At the front of the Old Schoolhouse there is a small communal enclosed garden with a bench, where you can enjoy a morning cup of tea whilst soaking up the views over the surrounding moorland. The owners live next door in the neighbouring converted school, and the playground is now the parking bays.
Commondale is a picturesque village, typical in the North York Moors National Park. The heart of the village has a friendly local pub, serving great food and is only yards away, so you can enjoy a tipple or two in the evening in good company before the short walk home.
The Esk Valley train which travels between Middlesbrough and Whitby stops at Commondale station which is just a 15 minute walk from The Old Schoolhouse. Although the service is limited, this is an excellent way to travel to Whitby, or to Grosmont to pick up the North York Moors Railway. This is a great choice of destination for walkers, as there is a vast array of walking trails nearby, and you are less than a 30 minute drive away from the coast, where you have Staithes, Whitby, Runswick Bay, Saltburn and Robin Hood’s Bay – all ideal for a memorable day out.
