There’s ample parking meaning you can leave the car behind and enjoy this popular market town on foot.
Keswick is full of narrow streets with independent shops and courtyards, and has an abundance of bars, pubs, restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, delis, outdoor shops and every other type of shopping experience you could imagine. This traditional market town is full of great things to discover. If you like culture check out the Theatre by The Lake, with its award-winning arts and drama on the banks of Derwentwater, where you can hire a rowing boat or even take a dip if you need to cool down. For fun you could try Puzzling Place, a mind-boggling attraction based on optical illusions, or the Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world. If you want a wild day out, try The Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, 8 miles, or The Lakes Distillery, which offers daily tasting and tours, also 8 miles. If you like walking, cycling and climbing, you are surrounded by some amazing scenery and routes around Latrigg and Catbells, nearby you’ll find Skiddaw, Blencathra and Helvellyn to name a few.
