As you enter the apartment, you step into a comfortable open plan room, offering both sleeping and dining areas. The super kingsize bed beckons you for a sound night’s sleep after a busy day of walking or sightseeing and it can be hard to leave in the morning as you can watch the TV from its cosy embrace. The kitchen is well-appointed offering all the space and amenities you need to prepare either a picnic or a romantic meal for two. Attached to the entrance of the apartment is a wonderful quaint decking area which can be a great sun trap when the weather is beaming.
The apartment is located on the Yewfield Estate which sits up on Hawkshead Hill giving great views of the surrounding countryside, there are a number of walks throughout the 80-acre estate taking in woods and wildflower meadows leading to the charming village of Hawkshead or picnic by the water at Tarn Hows. Although the estate is in a rural location it still offers easy access to the popular Lake District attractions with Lake Coniston and Windermere both within 3 miles drive, also on the doorstep are superb walking and cycling routes.
If you are more interested in less energetic pursuits, there is a good choice of museums such as the Motor Museum or Hill Top, and even plan a visit to Beatrix Potter’s house. For the foodies amongst you, there are five Michelin starred restaurants within an hour’s drive or maybe you’d like a day at the races at Cartmel. Perhaps you like mental challenges with a choice of escape rooms or take a ride on a segway at Grizedale Forest. There is so much to do you’ll be sure to visit again time and time again. If you are travelling with friends or family, there’s additional accommodation available on-site as the estate also has a guest house and a superb vegetarian restaurant. Beach 21 miles. Pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
