Located 7 miles from Windermere this seaside retreat situated on the Southern tip of the Cartmel peninsula has long been a favourite holiday destination. With the balmy influence of the Gulf Stream, this is a perfect year-round location with its long seafront promenade, ornamental gardens and boutique shops. The Cartmel Peninsula has an extensive network of footpaths and bike trails that are ideal for those wanting to explore this area on foot or bike. Some unique events are held in the area such as the Flookburgh Steam Gathering which brings together vintage vehicles to Cark Airfield for one massive summer gathering. Flookburgh is also a great place to pick up some fresh fish or seafood to take back and enjoy from your home away from home. From Michelin-starred restaurants to cosy tea rooms, foodies are well catered for.
