Located just 2½ miles from the Anglo-Scottish border, this town is the northernmost town in England. A place that has appealed to artists over the years due to the breathtaking views, ambient light and close proximity to the sea. L.S.Lowry used to holiday here and painted over 30 of his 'matchstick men' pictures in the area. If you prefer your activities on the water then take a boat or rib tour of the sea and rivers in and around Berwick, you might even be lucky enough to spot seals or dolphins, so keep your eyes peeled! Across the river, in Spittal, this Victorian spa town is the perfect getaway for a traditional bucket and spade holiday.
