Ingleton Cottages
Nestled right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Ingleton is well known for its caving and walking, but it''s also a great cottage holiday base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and has easy access north into Cumbria and west into Lancashire for days out.

Head for White Scar Cave or Ingleborough Cave (both less than two miles away) for a spot of easy exploring; both caves offer fully guided tours (check for details). Other caves in the area such as Gaping Gill will require caving experience and equipment. There is plenty of relaxing road cycling routes in the area or for something a bit more energetic, you''ll find beginner and Intermediate mountain biking trails starting in the village.

This is also perfect walking country and close by is the famous three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent. These are quite strenuous walks but well worth the effort for the spectacular views. But if you prefer something less energetic there are plenty of easier walks available within the area.

Just to the North West over the Cumbrian border lies the historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and to the south is Settle; which are both worth visiting during your stay. Hop aboard the famous Settle to Carlisle railway for wonderful days out travelling along one of Britain’s most scenic railway lines.

Head for Ingleton Pottery, the longest established pottery in the Yorkshire Dales, where you can take a workshop tour or view demonstrations (by appointment ) and take home some pieces including tableware and lamps which will make great gifts.

Dining out in Ingleton is a cosy affair, with a number of traditional inns and pubs serving home- cooked Yorkshire food, as well as quaint coffee shops and takeaways. For accommodation in this beautiful area search holiday cottages in Ingleton.
