Wells-next-the-Sea is a delightful Norfolk coast town, known for its picturesque landscapes, beautiful beaches, and charming harbour. If you're interested in taking a ride on a heritage steam train, consider a trip on the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway. This narrow-gauge railway runs from Wells-next-the-Sea to the village of Walsingham and offers a nostalgic and scenic journey through the Norfolk countryside. Wells Beach and Holkham Bay
Wells Beach is a beautiful sandy beach with colourful beach huts and dunes. You can take a leisurely stroll along the beach or indulge in beachcombing. From Wells Beach, you can also walk or take a miniature steam train to Holkham Bay, which is part of Holkham National Nature Reserve. The vast expanse of the beach and the stunning sand dunes make this area a true natural gem.
Wells Harbour
The Wells Harbour is a bustling and picturesque area with fishing boats, pleasure crafts, and yachts. You can take a walk along the quay, watch the boats come and go, and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. There are also several excellent seafood restaurants and cafes where you can savour delicious seafood dishes while enjoying the view.
Wells-next-the-Sea Quay
The Quay is a central hub of activity in the town. Here, you can enjoy crabbing, a popular pastime for visitors of all ages. Rent a crabbing line and bucket, drop it off the side of the quay, and see how many crabs you can catch. It's a fun and relaxing way to spend time by the water.
